Every time I visit my parents in Wisconsin I bring home a suitcase full of Summer Sausage, and I make them bring as many sausages as they can fit every time they come visit me. My son Dave lives in Long Beach, CA and I always take Cher-Make beef summer sausage and hotdogs (per his request) in my suitcase when I visit. Preparation
Grilling: All of our links are already precooked, so avoid placing links on too hot of a fire to prevent the casings from splitting open. Place the links indirectly above the heat source for about 7-10 minutes, turning the links often, until they are heated through and golden brown. Then enjoy!
Microwave: Remove the brats from package, place in microwave safe dish. Add water to cover the links. Cover dish; heat on high for 1 1/2 minutes. Turn hot dogs, heat again for 1 1/2 minutes. Let stand for 1-2 minutes and then serve!
Stove-Top: Place links in a shallow pan with ½ inch of water and over. Simmer over low heat, turning links periodically until heated through (approximately 10 minutes). To brown the links, carefully remove the water and heat on medium until brown, turning to brown each side.
